Frequently asked questions
What is Ombre powder brows?
Ombre powder brows is micro-shading. It is a service that consists of using a small needle to gently penetrate the skin in order to implant pigment. (Eyebrow tattoo)
What does Ombre powder brows look like?
The end result will look like lightly powdered eyebrow makeup that has a gradient effect. The beginning of your brows will be light and gradually gets darker as you move towards the end of the brow.
Does permanent make-up hurt?
Everyones pain tolerance is different. Topical anesthetics are applied during treatment to alleviate discomfort. You will hear a scratching noise and feel a scratch-like sensation throughout your procedure.
How long will my brows last?
Micro-shading is semi-permanent. Your brows can last from 12 months up to 3 years after your 6 week touch up.
How long does permanent make-up take to heal?
The entire healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, depending on your body's regeneration and age.
Will I need to come back more than once?
Yes, you will have your initial procedure, 6 week touch up, and then your recommended yearly touch-up to maintain your brows.
What is the process like?
I will take a before photo of your brows and then draw your eyebrows in with pencil so that you get an idea of shape and form. (Please note that no ones face is totally symmetrical and you need to be realistic with your expectations). Your brows will be shaped keeping your natural brow shape into consideration along with the shape that frames your face the best. Shaping is your decision. However, I will always give you my best advice on what I believe suits you aesthetically. Once we agree on shaping, we move forward with color choice. Color is chosen based on your skin tone and your natural brow hair.
Do I need to shave my own eyebrows off?
Please don’t. The goal is to retain all natural eyebrow hair and enhance your natural brow. In some cases, a few hairs may need to be removed for optimal results.
What should I expect during the healing process?
Your brows will go through phases. The pigment will look much darker the day after service. As your skin naturally regenerates, the pigment will look lighter after the peeling phase and that is completely normal. Brows can fade up to 50% during your healing phase (4-6 weeks after service). No need to worry. As this is ideal and allows you time to reflect on your shape and color. When you are fully healed, you should come back for touch-up.
My brows healed too light for my liking, can that be fixed?
Keep in mind that healing lighter is much more ideal than healing darker. We can always go darker during touch-up if you desire. However, to go from dark to light requires removal which is a bit more complex. Some areas may fade more than others, which is why a 6-week touchup is key to getting that flawless finish.
I see dry skin or flakes on my eyebrows since receiving service, what do I do?
This is completely normal and a part of the healing process. Do not pick at your brows as this can negatively affect your results. It's just superficial color and skin shedding off. Allow shedding to take its course. You should start to see your results about 30 days post-procedure.
